Program Director – Healthy Families

Watson Children’s Shelter is seeking applicants for the Program Director position for its newly developed Healthy Families – Child Abuse Prevention Program. The program will strictly follow a national evidenced-based model designed to help parents of newborns get their children off to a healthy start and to help families overcome challenges.Watson Children’s Shelter is seeking applicants for the Program Director position for its newly developed Healthy Families – Child Abuse Prevention Program. The program will strictly follow a national evidenced-based model designed to help parents of newborns get their children off to a healthy start and to help families overcome challenges.
Duties include but are not limited to:

• Maintaining a reduced home visiting caseload of families
• Day-to-day oversight of all program staff and functions
• Being a member of the agency’s administrative team
• Community outreach and education
• Assist in the development and maintenance of key community partnerships and collaborations.

Ideal candidates will hold a master’s degree in a human services field, have more than five years of experience in the field, embrace a family-centered and strength-based approach to services and have experience in staff supervision, program management, family systems work, child development, family assessment and screening, and have a strong knowledge of maternal-infant health. Knowledge of ACE’s and other concepts related to child abuse and neglect will also be important. Applicants who hold a bachelor’s degree in a human services field and have extensive experience will also be considered. Position is full-time and eligible for full benefits.
