Social workers who have placed children widely recognize WCS for its excellent staff, facility, and program.  Every direct care staff person is certified in First Aid, CPR, de-escalation techniques, and receives a minimum of 30 hours training annually.  The professional staff members have four-year college degrees and supervisors possess master’s degrees in related fields, while aides are typically working towards a degree in a human service field.  The staff is deeply committed to the shelter’s mission and strives to fulfill it 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
